Christmas French toast Recipe

For this recipe, you will need:

  • a large sliced brioche or sweetened bread or sandwich bread
  • butter
  • superfine sugar
  • powdered sugar
  • cinnamon

Butter the slices of bread generously.

Mix two cupfuls of sugar and one of cinnamon in a bowl.

With a spoon, sprinkle the mixture all over each slice of buttered bread until the butter is completely covered.

Ask an adult to preheat the oven for 10 minutes at 450°F.

Arrange the slices on the oven tray, place the tray near to the grill until the caramel turns a dark color.

Ask an adult to remove the tray from the oven. Be careful not to burn yourself!

Cut round the shapes to make yourself a stencil.

Enjoy yourselves decorating each slice by sprinkling the powdered sugar gently over the stencils – it’s the touch that’s sure to impress!
